Boiler retirement, planned

Oil & Gas Heating Replacement in Everett

Retire the tired boiler or furnace and move to a heat pump, with a clear plan for what becomes of the old equipment.

Your Old Boiler: Retire It or Keep It on the Bench?

That question shapes the whole project, so it gets answered first. Two roads exist. On the first, the heat pump takes the zone over entirely and the old oil, propane or gas heater gets pulled out or permanently disconnected. It is the cleanest break, and it is usually the road tied to the larger Mass Save rebate when the home also meets the weatherization and other conditions. On the second, the boiler or furnace stays put as backup, and integrated controls let the heat pump lead almost all the time, calling on the old burner only during deep cold. Whichever you pick, the decision is made at the start and written into your proposal, along with what it means for the rebate. Then comes the house. Older boilers usually fed radiators that a heat pump will not use the same way, so the new system has to be designed around real heat loss, with ducted air handlers, ductless heads or both. We plan that layout, carry out the changeover and show you the controls once everything runs. If there is an oil tank in the picture, its future gets discussed during the very first conversation, not on install day.

What Replacement Work Includes

Changing fuels touches more than the new equipment. Here is what we look after.

  • Old system review

Age, fuel, zones and how the boiler or furnace serves the house today.

  • Remove or keep decision

A clear choice among full removal, disconnection or backup duty.

  • New system design

Ducted, ductless or mixed equipment sized from the home's heat loss.

  • Integrated controls

Wiring that lets a retained boiler fire only when the cold gets severe.

  • Oil tank planning

The tank's future settled early and written into the plan.

  • Rebate alignment

Your approach checked against Mass Save rules so the incentive stays within reach.

  • Financing option

The 0% HEAT Loan explained if spreading the cost appeals to you.

  • Startup and walkthrough

New system tested, controls explained and program paperwork finished.

How Does the Switch Unfold?

  1. Look at what you have

We study the old equipment, any fuel bills you can share and the rooms each zone serves, then talk through removal versus backup.

  2. Put the plan in writing

The proposal covers the new system, the fate of the old one, the cost, the projected rebate and whatever you plan to borrow.

  3. Make the change

New equipment goes in while the boiler or furnace is removed, permanently disconnected or kept on standby, as agreed, and then you get a full walkthrough.

Why Plan the Switch With Us?
